Product description
This pepper is a new variety, developed by Ed Currie, the same person behind the
Carolina reaper Red.
Although not officially confirmed, reliable sources estimate this pepper at 3.18 million Scoville Heat Units, well above the Carolina Reaper. In comparison, the Carolina Reaper measures at 2,200,000 Scoville Heat Units. The
Ghost pepper Red, measures 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units. A Jalapeño pepper has an average of about 5,000 Scoville.
According to the Guinness World Record Book, the Carolina reaper is still the hottest pepper in the world, but the pepper X is likely to become the new heir to the throne.
Although often harvested when the peppers are green, they eventually turn red.
Warning: Using this pepper requires extreme caution. Wear hand, eye and breathing protection.
