Bird's Eye Chiles (also known as Rawit peppers or Red Thai chili peppers) range from 2 to 5 cm in length. Its smooth skin turns bright green when immature to a vibrant red hue when fully mature. The inside has a fleshy texture and encases many small seeds.
It provides a powerful heat that registers between 50,000 and 100,000 Scoville units. Thai red chilies are a typical ingredient in Southeast Asian cuisine, and are used to add spice and heat to foods. It is a classic part of Thai curries and is used to make curry paste, added whole to curries and eventually used as a garnish in curry preparation.
