In 2012, the Scorpion pepper was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the hottest pepper in the world for several months. In doing so, it displaced the Ghost pepper Red, which has held this title since 2007.

The heat of the harvest is particularly dependent on the conditions in which the plant lives. In stressful situations, such as high temperatures or drought, the fruits become significantly hotter.

The Moruga Trinidad Scorpion has a fruity / cotton candy type aroma. Don't be fooled, this pepper is dangerously hot! Some may detect a hint of cinnamon from the fresh peppers. You can make delicious hot sauces with it.

Note: handle with care, and preferably always wear gloves.
